Struggling Liverpool gets back into Premier League action on Tuesday when they host Chelsea. The Reds had an awful week last week, being knocked out of both the EFL and FA Cups.
Liverpool have won just once in 2017 and now find themselves in a top-4 battle for the rest of the season.
After Loris Karius played in both Cup games during the week, Simon Mignolet should return in goal for the Reds against Chelsea. He last played in a 3-2 loss to Swansea, but he should be the keeper moving forward.
Nathaniel Clyne isn’t expected back from his rib injury, so Trent Alexander-Arnold will get another start at right back for Liverpool. With him in the back will be Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and James Milner, who are clear choices when healthy.
In the midfield, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana should be in the starting XI. Henderson and Lallana are clear choices, and it appears Can has won the starting job over Georginio Wijnaldum for the third midfield spot. Lallana suffered a deep cut against Southampton in the EFL semifinal, but is available and needs to start.
Sadio Mane has returned to Liverpool after Senegal was knocked out of the African Cup of Nations, but his return was probably too late to get a start against Chelsea. He may be available off the bench, which would be a big boost for Liverpool. Firmino, Sturridge and Coutinho should be the starters on Tuesday.
